Senior Pastor
Broken Bow Evangelical Free Church

1. DESCRIPTION: The Senior Pastor will provide leadership to the Broken Bow Evangelical Free Church

2. QUALIFICATIONS:

A. A clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ

B. Consistent spiritual and moral character and lifestyle, fulfilling the biblical leadership qualifications of an elder described in I Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9

C. Agreement with the doctrinal statement of Bow EFree

D. Competent in organization, administration, and interpersonal relationships E. Potential and desire to remain in a long-term ministry at Bow EFree

E. Competent in Bible teaching and preaching

F. Successful ministry experience

G. Adequate skills and education for the position

H. Ordained or Willing to be ordained in the Free Church

I. BS or MDIV in Biblical or Theological studies

3. RESPONSIBILITIES: Have primary responsibility for the teaching and sustaining of biblical doctrines of this church and equipping God’s people for ministry

A. Pastoral duties

• Preach and teach the Word of God regularly

• Have overall responsibility for the public worship services

• Administer the ordinances

• Provide general pastoral care and nurtureB. Leadership duties

• Provide overall vision and leadership to Bow EFree

• Work with the Leadership Team to organize and develop the ministry of Bow EFree

• Provide leadership for the Ministry Community

• Provide overall leadership for the Elders, Deacons and Ministry Teams

• Oversee the development and implementation of the vision, mission and philosophy of the church

• Develop leaders

B. Management duties

• Supervise pastoral staff

• Supervise church administrator

C. Kingdom duties

• Represent the church to the community

• Provide ministry to the broader body of Christ

4. ACCOUNTABILITY:

A. The Senior Pastor is accountable to the Elder Board

B. This position description will be reviewed annually by the Elder Board

C. Other issues relating to this position are described in the Constitution and By-Laws
